Pokémon Rare Pocket Monster Cards

Pokémon TCG has been around or almost two decades. At the time, some cards were quite valuable and hard to find.

Pokémon is one of the most iconic franchises of all time, boasting of many successful movies, video games, anime series and manga series.

It’s a property that continues to expand ruthlessly, with marvel often presenting new animals and grounds whenever it proclaims new project.

As usual each generation of “Pocket Monsters” brings a new batch of collectible exchange cards.

Pikachu illustrator

One of the most secretive trading cards in Pokémon history, Pikachu Illustrator was distributed among the winners of an illustration competition in 1998.

No one knows exactly how many of these cards were made, but it is valued to be somewhere between 20 and 40 copies.

The heritage auctions sold in 2016 for an estimated $55,000. In 2017 an eBay seller demanded $100,000 for a copy verified by a professional certifier.

Articuno – Tropical Mega Battle Card

Although all kinds of Articuno cards were available across the board, this specialty was awarded during the 1999 mega battle tournament.

Like many other tournament cards, the average version are easily available for purchase.

But nothing compares well enough with the rarity of the original copies.

A few owners have their Tropical Mega Battle Articuno for sale, but none are available for less than $10,000.

Master Key Prize Card

The master card awarded of players during the tournament in Japan in 2010 makes it one of the most recent limited distributions.

There are thought to be a maximum of 36 copies and the gold foil stamp at the very bottom of the card translates to “Pokémon World Championship 2010 Japan national Tournament Prize card”.

Of course, it is impossible to get your hands on a master key.
