How to Set Text Message Notification in Android

Set custom text message notification in android may seem like a small feature but they can be very helpful.

A custom group message tone can respond to notification within a sea of our default notification tones.

A gunshot can mean that the boss is sending you back a few hours later and you can ignore him.

While a whip crack means your wife is sending you and you should check is out now.

However, you can get the setting in different places depending on your app or phone.

Set Ringtone for all Text messages

  1. From the home screen, tap the application slider, then open the “Message” application.
  2. From the main list of message threads, tap “Menu” then select “Settings”.
  3. Then select “Notification”
  4. Select “Sound”, then choose the tone for text messages or select “None”. You can select “Vibration” to turn the vibration on or off.

My Android Doesn’t Have This Option What Can I do

If you want to get some more features like the ability to set a word to a specific contact, you need to get an application in the Google play store.

I recommend Handsets.

It has a lot of features and it’s easier than the default text messaging app.

If you don’t like handsets, another great app called Champ SMS allows the same functionality.

Hope this article helps you to set text message notification in your android.
